Erasmus+ 2021–2027 – KA171: International Mobility of higher education students and staff

The University actively participates in the Erasmus+ 2021–2027 Programme, the European Union initiative to support education, training, youth, and sport in Europe and partner countries. In particular, the Key Action 171 (KA171) – International Mobility of higher education students and staff enables mobility between non-associated partner countries (such as Albania) and associated countries (EU Member States and other participating countries), offering opportunities for:

  • Study abroad for students (from 2 to 12 months);
  • International internships for students and recent graduates;
  • Teaching assignments for faculty at partner institutions;
  • Training for academic and administrative staff.

For students, the University guarantees automatic recognition of credits earned during mobility experiences, in line with the ECTS system and the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. Additionally, it promotes blended mobility, combining physical and virtual learning periods to increase accessibility and flexibility of educational experiences.

Erasmus+ 2021–2027 Programme

The programme aims to:

  • Improve skills and employability;
  • Promote social inclusion and active participation;
  • Support the green and digital transition;
  • Strengthen European identity, active citizenship, and social cohesion.

It places particular emphasis on four cross-cutting priorities:

  1. Inclusion and diversity – Ensuring equal access and opportunities for all, with special attention to people with fewer opportunities.
  2. Environmental sustainability – Encouraging eco-friendly and sustainable practices during mobility activities to contribute to combating climate change.
  3. Digital transformation – Supporting the adoption of digital tools and innovative methodologies in education and training.
  4. Participation in democratic life – Fostering civic engagement and active participation in the democratic life of the EU.

Bilateral Agreements, Joint Degrees, and Interinstitutional Collaborations

The University promotes mobility not only within the framework of bilateral agreements for the awarding of joint or double degrees with Italian partner universities but also through collaborations with other academic, healthcare, scientific, and cultural entities and institutions, both public and private.
These mobilities include study, research, internship, teaching, and training activities, contributing to academic integration, international cooperation, and the transferability of skills across interdisciplinary and professional fields.
