In April, the University of Florence organized a conference on the theme " Adalberto Libera: Architettura, Interni, Città " where Catholic University "Our Lady of Good Counsel" was represented PhD. Arch. Andia Guga, Architecture Study Program at the Faculty of Applied Sciences. The conference was part of a series of lectures on the theme "Masters of 20th-century Italian architecture". This meeting was attended by several universities where the Architecture courses represent an important academic part. The speakers talked about the architect Adalberto Libera, one of the masters of Italian rationalist architecture, whose work is still relevant today. PhD. Arch. Andia Guga spoke about the “Palazzo delle Poste” on the Aventine Hill, explaining to the public the stylistic characteristics of the work. The “Palazzo delle Poste” represents a successful synthesis between public function, architectural quality and ideological vision. According to PhD. Arch. Andia Guga, this is a work that demonstrates the professional maturity of the Italian architect Adalberto Libera and the effectiveness of the collaboration with Mario De Renzi. Almost a century later, the building is a well-designed, functional and useful example for people. In an era where there is much discussion about the quality of public spaces, this building reminds us that good design is always an act of civic responsibility.
PhD. Arch.. Andia Guga is part of the Architecture study program of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, which is established according to the European guidelines of academic and professional training and is designed with the vision of completing a multidimensional professional figure together with the academic body of the University of Florence, collaborator in these Study Programs.
