Official visit to “Fehmi Agani” University as part of the project on infantile cerebral palsy

Within the framework of the project “Pharmacological therapy, physiotherapeutic treatment and the benefits of rehabilitation with hydrotherapy in children with infantile cerebral palsy,” funded by the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation (AKKSHI) and implemented through bilateral cooperation between Albania and Kosovo in the field of education and science, the staff of the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” conducted an official visit to the “Fehmi Agani” University of Gjakova.


Within the framework of the project “Pharmacological therapy, physiotherapeutic treatment and the benefits of rehabilitation with hydrotherapy in children with infantile cerebral palsy,” funded by the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation (AKKSHI) and implemented through bilateral cooperation between Albania and Kosovo in the field of education and science, the staff of the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” conducted an official visit to the “Fehmi Agani” University of Gjakova.

The delegation was welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Gjakova, Prof. Dr. Haxhi Kamberi, together with Prof. Assoc. Dafinë Kaçuri, who hosted Prof. Assoc. Malvina Hoxha and PhD Enkeleda Gjini. During the meeting, members of the project discussed and finalized the results of the studies, which are expected to be disseminated in the coming months.

Furthermore, Prof. Malvina Hoxha and PhD Enkeleda Gjini also took part in the scientific activity organized by the Faculty of Medicine, University “Fehmi Agani” of Gjakova, entitled “The importance of prenatal and neonatal screening for the early diagnosis of congenital heart anomalies” The activity featured Prof. Dr. Ramush Bejiqi as the main speaker, while the discussion panel included Prof. Dr. Haxhi Kamberi, Prof. Assoc. Faton Hoxha, and Prof. Assoc. Faton Krasniqi. During the activity, Prof. Malvina Hoxha, coordinator of the project from the Albanian side, presented the two-year work carried out within the project, highlighting its development over time, the challenges encountered, the initial phase of its implementation, as well as its main objectives and goals. She emphasized that, beyond identifying cases of infantile cerebral palsy in Albania and Kosovo, the project has also aimed to raise awareness regarding the social support and care that should be provided to these patients. PhD Enkeleda Gjini underlined the importance of early diagnosis, particularly in rural areas, where access to healthcare services plays a crucial role. At the conclusion of the activity, a certificate of appreciation was awarded to the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” in recognition of its contribution to the successful implementation of the bilateral project Albania-Kosovo.
