Each new year at the “Our Lady of Good Counsel” Hospital and University Campus open with a meaningful event deeply rooted in education, civic responsibility, and shared values: the election of the Righteous Person of the Year. On January 16, 2026, students, professors, guests, friends, partners, patients, and their families present at the ZKM Campus and at the At’Luigji Monti Outpatient Clinic at Rruga e Kavajës are warmly invited to take part in a secret and democratic vote. This process allows the community to select, from several distinguished candidates, individuals whose lives and actions have contributed to building a better and more just world. On Friday, January 16, starting at 9:30 a.m., the event will be more than a simple vote: it will be an opportunity for reflection and dialogue, fostering civic awareness and strengthening the sense of citizenship among our young people.
This year’s candidates are Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, Annalena Tonelli, Ken Saro-Wiwa, Anna Politkovskaya, and Frère Roger Schutz.
