Rector’s delegate to “International Relations & Catholic Schools”

Prof. Raul Caruso, born in Avellino, graduated in Naples. He later earned a master’s degree from ASERI in Milan, an MSc in Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), and finally a PhD in Institutions and Organizations from the “Università Cattolica Sacro Cuore" di in Milan. Currently, he is a full professor in Economic Policy at the same university, where he teaches courses in Economic Policy, International Economics, and Peace Economics. He serves as the editor of the "Peace Economics, Peace Science and Public Policy" journal and is a member of the editorial board of “Defense and Peace Economics”. He represents the “Università Cattolica Sacro Cuore" di Milano in RUNIPACE (Network of Italian Universities for Peace) and is the head of the Italian chapter of EPS (Economists for Peace and Security). Between 2009 and 2019, he served as the executive director of the Network of European Peace Scientists. Over the years, he has given lectures at various universities, including MIT in Boston, the University of Bath, the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, Hiroshima University, Warsaw University, Novosibirsk State University, and Kazakh Humanitarian Law University. Prof. Caruso has received several awards, including the 2021 Manas Chatterji Global Scholarship Award from the Peace Science Society for contributions to the dissemination of Peace Science, the 2017 NEPS Medal for the best publication in Peace Science in 2016, the 2017 Capri-San Michele Award for the book 'Economia della Pace', a certificate for the most cited research in the Journal of Policy Modeling, the 2011 Isimbardi Award from the Province of Milan, and the Stuart A. Bremer Award from the Peace Science Society International."  

Prof. Caruso is currently the director of CESPIC (European Center for Peace Science, Integration, and Cooperation) at the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” in Tirana and, he is also serving as Rector’s delegate to International Relations & Catholic Schools.
