Fighting for Peace

Brief Description: Fighting for Peace is an event organized by the European Center of Science of Peace, Integration and Cooperation (CESPIC) in collaboration with the Catholic University " Our Lady of Good Counsel” and the Municipality of Tirana in order to promote and spread the Culture of Peace.

Brief Description: In recent years Albania has registered a sustained and continuous economic expansion, characterized by high growth rates that most of the other Western Countries have not yet matched. Despite these successful economic performances, Albania still distinguishes itself for one of the lowest GDP per capita of Europe and the Balkans, strong emigration trends, high unemployment rates, and a workforce excessively centered in the primary sector. These facts generally depict the ongoing presence of marginalization and pockets of deprivation.

Brief Description: In a panel composed of experts from various fields, the possibility of drafting a similar law and its implementation in Albania was discussed.
Currently in Albania, food waste is managed by non-profit organizations and foundations that make them available to people in need.
But, regulatory law of this activity is turning day to day a necessity, following the steps of European countries.
In front of the audience, Italian Parliament MP Maria Chiara Gadda was referred to the Italian law on waste, whose initiator is herself.

Il 22 gennaio 2016, ore 10.00, presso l’Aula Magna dell’Università Cattolica NSBC, si è tenuto il Convegno “Percorsi di pace, integrazione e cooperazione”. L’evento è stato organizzato da una collaborazione tra l’Università Cattolica “Nostra Signora del Buon Consiglio”, la Nunziatura Apostolica in Albania e il Centro Europeo di Scienza di Pace, Integrazione e Cooperazione.Hanno onorato con la presenza S.E. Bujar Nishani, Presidente della Repubblica d’Albania e S.Em. Cardinal Antonio Maria Vegliò, Presidente del Pontificio Consiglio Pastorale per i Migranti e gli Itineranti.
